Second Round of Government-PTI Talks to Be Held Today, Decisions Expected

Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar) — The second round of talks between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will be held today, with progress on key issues and possibly final decisions expected.

According to the National Assembly Secretariat, the meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Speaker’s Chamber.

According to sources, the government team has made it clear that no concessions will be given in case of protests and unrest, while a serious approach will be required for any relief.

The government has demanded that the opposition postpone or cancel the long march during the negotiations and has made it clear that a march toward Islamabad will not be allowed.

According to sources, if the opposition maintains its position, measures may be considered under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution.

During the first round of talks, both sides presented their demands. PTI called for permission for meetings with Imran Khan, an end to the detention of his sisters, and implementation of the court’s decision, among other demands. The government, meanwhile, emphasized resolving political matters through negotiations.

At the conclusion of the first round, both sides agreed to continue the dialogue. The meeting today is therefore being considered important for determining the future direction of the negotiation process.
