California (Web Desk) — A famous designer has created a shirt that is claimed to make people wearing it less visible to facial recognition systems powered by artificial intelligence.
Designer Simon Weckert developed the unique garment in response to the growing use of AI-powered video surveillance around the world.
Called “Digital Camouflage,” the shirt’s distinctive colors and abstract patterns reportedly confuse AI-based object-recognition systems, potentially causing them to fail to identify the person wearing the shirt as a human.
According to Simon Weckert, AI systems have not actually learned what a human is; instead, they have learned from millions of training images what humans generally look like from a statistical perspective.
However, the designer clarified that “Digital Camouflage” is not a means of evading police and does not guarantee complete anonymity.
