Quetta (Pakistan Khabar): The bodies of six laborers who were kidnapped two days ago from Turbat district in Balochistan have been recovered. The bodies, riddled with bullet wounds, were taken into police custody and shifted to a hospital.
According to the police, the bodies were found at different locations, and initial evidence suggests they were shot dead. Investigations are underway, while the identification process has also been completed.
Authorities said the deceased include Muhammad Taimoor, Muhammad Wazir, and Muhammad Parvez from Bahawalpur, Punjab; Muhammad Arshad from Dunyapur in Lodhran district; and Amjad Khan and Yahya from the districts of Buner and Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Balochistan Government’s Special Assistant for Home Affairs, Babar Yousafzai, confirmed that the recovered bodies were those of the six abducted laborers. He said that seven laborers had been kidnapped two days earlier from the Kalatak area of Turbat. One of them was killed shortly after the abduction, while the remaining six were taken away.
He added that four of the deceased belonged to Punjab and two to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the incident and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. He said the terrorists had displayed extreme brutality by targeting unarmed laborers and had attempted to undermine Balochistan’s development and the livelihoods of its people.
Meanwhile, Gwadar Police conducted an operation and rescued 12 people who had allegedly been lured from Punjab with false promises of employment. According to the police, three suspects were arrested and five vehicles were seized. The arrested suspects include Bahiruddin and Nadir Shah from Awaran, and Abdul Majid from Panjgur.
This incident is another in a series of attacks targeting non-local laborers in Balochistan. Earlier, five laborers working on development projects were also killed in Mashkail.
