Transport Fares Reduced by 5% After Petrol and Diesel Price Cut

Lahore (Commerce Desk) Following a reduction of Rs. 22 per litre in petrol and diesel prices, the transport sector has announced a decrease in fares.

The Pakistan Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association announced a 5% reduction in freight charges to provide direct relief to the public.

Association President Haji Sher Ali Chaudhry stated that transporters are ready to support government efforts to ease financial pressure on citizens following the fuel price cut. He described the move as a positive step, especially ahead of Eid.

According to the announcement, the revised reduced fares will come into effect from midnight tonight, after which existing goods transport rates will be lowered by 5%.

Economic experts say that if reductions in fuel prices are effectively passed on across sectors, it can lead to direct relief for end consumers and help ease inflationary pressure.
