UK Criticizes US Policy on Iran Conflict

London (Monitoring Desk) British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves has criticized the United States’ policy on Iran, calling the end of diplomatic engagement and the potential start of military confrontation a mistake. In an interview with a US broadcaster, she said that reducing tensions is the best economic strategy, adding that in the current situation, de-escalation is essential not only for the United Kingdom but also for the global economy.

The British government has made it clear that it will not be part of any military blockade aimed at increasing pressure on Iran in the Strait of Hormuz and will adopt a cautious policy in this regard. Responding to a question about differences between the United States and the United Kingdom, Rachel Reeves said that this has not affected the special relationship between the two countries, noting that differences of opinion among allies are natural.

She further stated that bilateral relations are based on strong foundations and that cooperation will continue despite disagreements.
