Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar): In light of rising tensions in the region, Pakistan is once again set to play a key diplomatic role as high-level delegations from the United States and Iran are scheduled to arrive in the federal capital today.
According to sources, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance will arrive in Islamabad tonight, accompanied by key American figures Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who will participate in the expected negotiations with Iran. It has been reported that a 23-member support team for the U.S. delegation, including security and diplomatic experts, has already reached Islamabad.
On the other hand, Iran will be represented by Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who are also expected to arrive in Islamabad tonight, where important meetings between the two sides are anticipated.
Earlier, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt had stated that U.S. President Donald Trump had decided to send a special delegation to Pakistan for talks with Iran, which is expected to formally begin negotiations on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has also taken the Prime Minister of Pakistan into confidence and confirmed that a high-level Iranian delegation is arriving in Islamabad for talks, raising hopes for strengthened peace efforts in the region.
