US Claims Strikes on Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Targets

Washington / Tehran (Monitoring Desk): The US Central Command has claimed that several military facilities linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard were targeted in airstrikes in Iran.

According to US officials, the operation was carried out in response to an alleged Iranian ballistic missile attack on US forces a day earlier.

In a CENTCOM statement, it was said that US strikes targeted military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal defense systems, and locations related to naval capabilities in different areas of Iran.

The US military said the purpose of the operation was to reduce threats to American personnel in the region, Gulf allied countries, and global maritime trade.

On the other hand, Iranian media claimed that the United States also carried out attacks in various areas of southern Iran on Thursday morning. According to Iranian news agencies, missiles were fired at several locations around Qeshm Island and Abadan.

Hormozgan Province Deputy Governor Ahmad Nafisi said that at around 4 a.m. local time, a location near Qeshm Island was targeted by the US military.

Iranian news agency Fars, citing an official from Khuzestan Province, reported that US missile strikes were also carried out around Abadan.

So far, Iran has not released complete details regarding casualties or financial losses from these attacks, while US officials have also not provided further information about the results of the operation.

According to defense experts, the growing military tensions between the United States and Iran could further complicate the regional situation, with possible impacts on Gulf countries, global energy markets, and international peace and security.
