Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar): Diplomatic sources in Karachi have revealed that Pakistan’s behind-the-scenes diplomacy has entered its final phase for the proposed talks between the United States and Iran, scheduled to be held in Islamabad on April 10.
According to sources, Pakistan has urged both sides to demonstrate patience and seriousness during the initial direct meeting and to engage in dialogue within a constructive environment. Well-informed circles state that during the proposed negotiations, both the U.S. and Iran will present their prepared points, which will be reviewed clause by clause.
If either party raises objections at any stage, efforts will be made to reach a middle ground through detailed discussions. Diplomatic sources added that the meeting may also determine the schedule for future rounds of talks, while Pakistan will act as a facilitator and mediator in the Islamabad session. For this purpose, Pakistan has finalized its diplomatic strategy in consultation with friendly countries.
Sources further noted that the negotiation process could consist of multiple phases, and its success will depend on achieving consensus on all points so that a formal written ceasefire agreement can be reached. In such an agreement, Pakistan, along with other key countries, may act as guarantors.
According to diplomatic circles, the talks will take place between high-level delegations, and if discussions prolong, an extension of the ceasefire period may also be considered.
