US launches strict crackdown against illegal Indian drivers, multiple arrests made

Washington (Monitoring Desk) Under the ongoing “Operation Checkmate” against individuals residing illegally in the United States, Indian nationals have come under a strict crackdown.

According to foreign reports, illegally residing Indian citizens around the world have become a concern for several countries, prompting the United States to intensify operations under federal immigration enforcement.

According to US Customs and Border Protection, out of 36 truck drivers arrested during Operation Checkmate, at least 30 were Indian nationals.

According to Indian media reports, US authorities said that several individuals were also found without valid driving licenses. All individuals are being processed under US law, and preparations are underway for their deportation.

Dustin Caudle, Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the Yuma Sector, said that individuals residing illegally, especially certain drivers, can pose a threat to public safety.

Reports further state that large numbers of Indian nationals have previously been deported from countries including Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the United States on charges such as fake documentation.

According to Indian government data, 171,150 Indian citizens were deported from 52 different countries between 2021 and 2025.

Experts say this situation reflects the tightening of immigration laws globally and increasing enforcement against illegal residency, as countries are now strictly implementing immigration regulations.
