WASHINGTON (Monitoring Desk): US President Donald Trump has issued a stern statement regarding possible action against Iran, saying the world should “wait and see” what the United States does against Tehran. He said Washington had largely made up its mind on Iran, adding that Iranian officials were also closely monitoring the situation.
Addressing his supporters, Trump said he did not know whom the United States should engage in negotiations with in Iran, claiming that the country’s leadership was difficult to assess clearly.
He claimed to be an expert at making deals and said he had built his wealth through this ability. Trump once again emphasised that, in his view, the most important issue was preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
During his address, the US president also referred to the war in Ukraine, saying one of the reasons behind the conflict was former President Joe Biden’s mockery of Russia.
Turning to the upcoming midterm elections, Trump urged Republican voters to cast their ballots as though he himself were on the ballot. He claimed that if the Republican Party lost the elections, Americans could face setbacks on several issues, including Social Security and taxes on tips.
He also alleged that electoral districts in areas controlled by Republicans had deliberately been divided through redistricting.
Trump further asserted that the United States enjoys greater respect around the world than ever before.
