New York (Web Desk) YouTube has announced that it is implementing a more transparent and stricter monitoring system to identify content created or modified using artificial intelligence.
Under the new policy, any video uploaded on YouTube that significantly uses artificial intelligence will now display a clear label stating “AI-generated content.”
For long-form videos, this label will appear below the video player and above the description section, while in Shorts it will be prominently displayed directly on top of the video.
According to the company, although creators are still responsible for tagging their AI-generated videos, a new automated content detection system has also been introduced. This system will analyze videos and identify AI-generated content even if it has not been manually labeled.
YouTube also clarified that if a video is mistakenly marked as AI-generated, creators will be able to correct or update this information through YouTube Studio.
The move is aimed at increasing transparency in online content and helping viewers distinguish between real and AI-generated material.
