Badakhshan Clashes Raise Questions Over Taliban Control Claims

Kabul (Monitoring Desk): Recent clashes in the Yiftal and Zebak districts of Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province have raised questions over the Taliban government’s claims of having complete control over the country.

The anti-Taliban armed group Afghanistan Freedom Front has claimed that its fighters targeted a Taliban military convoy heading from Kabul to Badakhshan with a rocket attack, killing 7 Taliban personnel and injuring more than 6 others.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, the Afghanistan Freedom Front said that its fighters had monitored the movement of the Taliban military convoy from Kabul to northern Salang.

According to the statement, the convoy was transporting additional troops and military equipment for deployment in Badakhshan.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front further claimed that earlier on Saturday, its fighters had also shot down two Taliban military drones in Zebak district.

It should be noted that Taliban officials have not yet issued an immediate response regarding these incidents, while concerns are being expressed by various circles over the security situation in Afghanistan.
