Kabul (Monitoring Desk) Economic difficulties continue to persist in Afghanistan, and many citizens are facing hardships due to unemployment and rising living costs.
According to a report by Afghanistan's local newspaper Hasht-e Subh, several citizens stated that claims of economic improvement do not correspond with the challenges of their daily lives, and many families are struggling to meet even basic necessities.
The report stated that restrictions imposed on women and their exclusion from economic activities have also negatively affected the country's economy.
According to Hasht-e Subh, Afghan workers and citizens believe that alongside claims of economic progress, greater attention should also be given to public welfare and the creation of employment opportunities. The report noted that job opportunities in the country remain limited, while facilities required to encourage foreign investment are also inadequate.
According to Achim Steiner, sustainable economic recovery in Afghanistan is not possible without the active participation of Afghan women in the economy. Reports from local media and international institutions indicate that Afghanistan requires broad reforms and investment to achieve economic stability
