England Beat Mexico to Reach World Cup Quarter-Finals

Mexico City (Sports Desk): England secured a thrilling victory over hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium to qualify for the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals.

The match began one hour late due to heavy rain and stormy weather, but England started confidently with an aggressive approach from the outset.

Before the end of the first half, Jude Bellingham delivered a brilliant performance, scoring two goals within just 98 seconds, giving England a strong advantage. Before the break, Julian Quiñones scored once for Mexico to keep his side in the contest.

At the start of the second half, England suffered a setback when Jarell Quansah was shown a red card, reducing the team to ten players and allowing the hosts to increase pressure.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made several crucial saves to keep England in the game during key moments. Later, Harry Kane converted a penalty after a foul on Anthony Gordon to restore England’s two-goal advantage, although Mexico also earned a penalty following an error from Kane, which Raul Jimenez successfully converted.

In the closing stages, Mexico continued to push forward aggressively, but England held firm with disciplined defending. Even during 11 minutes of added time, the English side maintained their lead to secure the win.

With this victory, England advanced to the quarter-finals, where they will face Norway. Fans are now looking forward to a potential high-profile clash between Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.
