Lord’s Test: Rizwan and Salman Retained, Saud Shakeel Dropped

Lahore (Sports Desk): After Pakistan suffered an innings and 103-run defeat against England in the Headingley Test, Pakistan has decided to retain Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha for the second Test at Lord’s.

There had been speculation that former captain and experienced wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan could be rested and Ghazi Ghori could make his Test debut, while Salman Ali Agha was also expected to be dropped.

However, according to reports, both senior players will be part of the 11-member squad for the second Test starting Thursday at Lord’s. The 34-year-old Mohammad Rizwan has played 46 Tests, while 32-year-old Salman Ali Agha has featured in 28 Tests.

With the return of Babar Azam after missing one match, 30-year-old Saud Shakeel will be dropped. He scored five and 14 runs in the Leeds Test.
