LAHORE (Sports Desk): Pakistan cricket team head coach Mike Hesson has said that Sahibzada Farhan is enjoying the responsibility of captaincy and that his leadership skills will continue to improve with time. He added that Pakistan made changes during the T20 series against Sri Lanka while striving to play their best cricket.
Speaking at a press conference after Pakistan’s defeat in the third and final T20 match of the series in Rawalpindi, Hesson said Pakistan had been winning T20 series for the past 18 months. He added that middle-order batters had played a significant role in the team’s recent successes.
Commenting on Farhan’s captaincy, the head coach said he understood the game well and would continue to develop as a leader. He added that Farhan was enjoying the responsibility of captaining the side.
Reflecting on Pakistan’s eight-wicket defeat in the final match against Sri Lanka, Hesson acknowledged that the team’s bowling had fallen below the required standard. He said Pakistan cricket had traditionally been known for its fast bowlers, which was why Shaun Tait would work with the country’s pace bowlers.
Discussing the upcoming ODI tri-series, the head coach said Pakistan’s one-day squad had improved its performances in recent times. However, he cautioned that England were ranked number one in the world, making the tri-series a tough test for Pakistan.
