Mitchell Starc Destroys Bangladesh for 64 Runs

Mackay (Sports Desk): Bangladesh’s batting lineup collapsed against Mitchell Starc’s devastating bowling on the opening day of the second Test against Australia, with the entire team dismissed for just 64 runs.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl, a decision Mitchell Starc justified by taking six wickets for just 12 runs in 10 overs. He began Bangladesh’s collapse by dismissing Shadman Islam with the very first ball.

Pat Cummins took three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood claimed one. Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das were dismissed without scoring. Sharif Islam scored 14 runs and added 25 runs in the final-wicket partnership.

In reply, Australia also faced early difficulties, losing three wickets for 50 runs, while the hosts needed another 14 runs to erase Bangladesh’s first-innings lead.

It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh defeated Australia by nine wickets in the first Test of the series.
