Jeddah (Monitoring Desk) — Pakistan has sent a clear message to Iran following recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, urging Tehran to use its influence over the Yemeni Houthis and try to stop the attacks.
According to foreign news agency Reuters, diplomatic and Pakistani sources said the message was conveyed to Iran during the past 24 hours. The message warned that if Houthi attacks continue, the ongoing proxy conflict in the region could turn into a major security crisis.
According to sources, Pakistan’s message carries particular significance in the context of recent defence cooperation between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye. Saudi officials in Riyadh also met with Pakistani and Turkish military representatives, during which coordination regarding a possible response was discussed.
According to Reuters, the three countries have agreed that their forces will not enter Yemen, while any potential military action will be limited to defending Saudi borders.
