Riyadh (Monitoring Desk): The Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia has advised Pakistani citizens to refrain from political activities, demonstrations and the promotion of political views.
In a statement issued on the social media platform X, the embassy said that under Saudi laws, involvement in any kind of political activity is prohibited. Therefore, Pakistani citizens have been advised to stay away from political gatherings, demonstrations and the activities of political parties.
The statement also instructed Pakistani citizens to comply with local laws and act responsibly while using social media. They were also advised to avoid spreading unverified news and rumors, engaging in political or sectarian arguments, and sharing provocative content.
The embassy further instructed citizens to stay away from content criticizing the policies of the local government or containing incitement, and not to present the political and security situation in the region in a sensational manner.
The statement warned that violations of Saudi laws could result in legal action, including arrest, fines, imprisonment, deportation and a ban on re-entering Saudi Arabia.
The advisory comes at a time when close cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia continues in the defense, diplomatic and other sectors.
