Saim Ayub’s Blistering Century Leads Jamaica Kingsmen to Victory

Basseterre (Sports Desk) — In the 18th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2026, Pakistani young batter Saim Ayub’s blistering century helped Jamaica Kingsmen defeat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 11 runs.

Played at Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and invited Jamaica Kingsmen to bat first. Jamaica scored 182 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs, powered by Saim Ayub’s aggressive batting.

Saim Ayub played a brilliant innings of 102 runs off 58 balls, including six fours and eight sixes. He adopted an attacking approach from the outset and played impressive strokes all around the ground.

Keemo Paul also made a valuable contribution in the final stages, scoring 25 runs off 13 balls. For St Kitts, Wanindu Hasaranga, Naseem Shah and Obed McCoy took two wickets each.

Chasing a target of 183, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots managed 171 for 6 in 20 overs. Andre Fletcher scored 55 off 38 balls, while Dasun Shanaka remained unbeaten on 35 off 18 balls, but their efforts were not enough to secure victory.

For Jamaica Kingsmen, Hunain Shah and Jediah Blades took two wickets each, while Saim Ayub and Keemo Paul dismissed one batter apiece.

For his outstanding century and overall performance, Saim Ayub was named Player of the Match.
