Lahore (Sports Desk) — Former captain of the national cricket team Shahid Khan Afridi has said that every citizen of the country should have access to equal and quality healthcare and education facilities.
In a statement, Shahid Afridi questioned why members of the ruling elite do not send their children to government hospitals and educational institutions if they genuinely provide the best facilities.
He said that 14 children lost their lives at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad, and following the completion of an investigation into the incident, the report has been released, while the responsible officials have also been suspended.
The former captain said that orders for criminal proceedings in connection with the PIMS incident have also been issued; however, no action can bring the innocent children back to life.
Shahid Afridi once again emphasized that every citizen of Pakistan should have access to equal standards and facilities in healthcare and education.
