Skardu (Sports Desk) – The “Maarka-e-Haq 2nd Sarfaranga National Marathon 2026” was successfully organized in Skardu under the supervision of the Pakistan Army.
According to details, a 21-kilometer marathon was held in the world’s highest cold desert, Sarfaranga, along with a fun run for senior citizens and students.
More than 1,000 athletes from across Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan, participated in the Sarfaranga National Marathon.
The Commander of FCNA was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
In the marathon, athlete Muhammad Akhtar secured first position and was awarded a cash prize of 1 million rupees along with a medal. Sohail Aamir, who secured second place, received 700,000 rupees, while Shahbaz, who came third, was awarded 400,000 rupees.
The top 50 athletes were also given cash prizes, medals, and certificates.
Participants and local residents highly appreciated the event organized by the Pakistan Army, stating that it promoted peace, unity, and healthy activities in the region.
They added that the successful event played an important role in encouraging youth towards positive and constructive activities.
