The match played at Vancouver Stadium saw Switzerland take an aggressive start, with Breel Embolo scoring a brilliant goal in the 10th minute to give his side an early lead.
Algeria tried to mount a comeback in the first half, but Switzerland’s defense held firm, and the score remained 1-0 at halftime.
In the 46th minute, Dan Ndoye doubled Switzerland’s lead, making it 2-0.
Despite late efforts from Algeria, they were unable to break through, and Switzerland secured a comfortable victory.
With this win, Switzerland reached the Round of 16 for the fourth consecutive World Cup, where they will face the winner of the Colombia vs Ghana match.
