U-17 Asian Beach Wrestling: Pakistan’s brilliant success, one gold and one silver medal

Hanoi (Sports Desk) In the U-17 Asian Beach Wrestling Championship 2026, Pakistani wrestlers delivered an outstanding performance by securing one gold and one silver medal.

In the 90kg category, Pakistan’s Muhammad Usman Laghari showcased exceptional skills and claimed the Asian champion title. He remained undefeated throughout the tournament, defeating the host Vietnam’s opponent in the opening round, followed by victories over wrestlers from Mongolia and China.

Muhammad Usman Laghari defeated a Kazakh wrestler in the semi-final to reach the final, where he once again triumphed against a Vietnamese opponent to win the gold medal.

On the other hand, in the 70kg category, Pakistan’s Hassan Ali Bhola also delivered a strong performance and secured the silver medal. During the tournament, he defeated two wrestlers from Jordan, one from Saudi Arabia, and two from Vietnam.

Hassan Ali Bhola reached the final after beating a strong Chinese opponent in the semi-final; however, he could not win the decisive match and had to settle for the silver medal.

Team officials and coach Ghulam Farid described the achievements as a result of continuous hard work, better training, and national spirit, saying that Pakistani wrestlers have brought pride to the country on the international stage.
