Kyiv (Monitoring Desk) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the removal of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko from office, following which the country’s cabinet resigned collectively.
President Zelenskyy said that along with the government, major changes would also be made in the leadership of law enforcement agencies. He praised Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko’s services and said she had been offered a new responsibility related to relations with an important partner of the country.
Zelenskyy said that, with the support of parliament, necessary reforms and changes would be introduced in the government. However, he did not announce the name of a new prime minister or provide details about Yulia Svyrydenko’s possible new role.
The Ukrainian President also mentioned changes in the leadership of law enforcement institutions but did not clarify the reasons behind them.
Yulia Svyrydenko, an economist by profession, was appointed Prime Minister of Ukraine in July 2025. Before that, she served as Deputy Head of President Zelenskyy’s Office for one year and also held the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Trade for four years.
According to the Ukrainian Constitution, the parliament approves the prime minister’s resignation, and the resignation of the prime minister results in the dissolution of the entire cabinet.
