The actor’s wife, Alma Viator, announced his death on a social media website on August 9. According to her, Ben Jones was at home when he suffered a severe heart attack.
In her emotional message, his wife said that Ben Jones lived life to the fullest and was loved by countless people. However, she said she had lost the greatest love of her life.
Following Ben Jones’s death, his “The Dukes of Hazzard” co-star Tom Wopat also paid tribute to him. He said the show had lost an important member of its cast, while he had lost a good friend.
