Women’s T20 Tri-Series: Pakistan Women Lose to West Indies by 25 Runs

Dublin (Sports Desk) In the opening match of the Women’s T20 Tri-Series, the Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team suffered a 25-run defeat against the West Indies Women’s Cricket Team.

The match was played at Castle Avenue Ground, where West Indies posted a strong total of 199 runs after batting first. Captain Hayley Matthews led from the front with a 40-run knock, while Stafanie Taylor contributed 39 runs and Zaida James added a solid 42 runs to strengthen the innings.

Chasing 200, the Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team struggled early, losing four wickets for just 52 runs. Muniba Ali scored 2 runs, while Gull Feroza made 4.

Later, Syeda Jabeen scored a fighting 30 runs, Aliya Riaz added 37, and captain Fatima Sana contributed 27 runs. However, Pakistan could only reach 174 for 8 in their 20 overs, falling short by 25 runs.

The Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team will play their next match against hosts Ireland on May 31.
