American Muslim Senator Strongly Criticises Iran War, Calls Decision a Mistake

Washington (Monitoring Desk): Newly elected American Muslim Senator Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Sayed has described the decision to launch a war against Iran as a mistake, saying that the United States has been dragged into a war that should never have been started.

Speaking in an interview with an American television channel, Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Sayed said that previous US presidents had avoided war against Iran, but under the current circumstances, the United States has become trapped in a conflict that could have been avoided.

He alleged that a foreign prime minister had continuously tried to persuade the United States to go to war with Iran. He said that the Israeli government should also be treated in the same manner as other countries.

The American senator said that the United States was providing military assistance and selling weapons to Israel, while American weapons supplied to Israel were being used for genocide.

He further said that Egypt, which is involved in human rights violations, should not receive American aid. He added that criticising a government's policies should not be portrayed as prejudice against the country or its people.
