London (Monitoring Desk): Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has said that the US administration is serious about finding a diplomatic solution to the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran and continues its efforts to reduce tensions.
Speaking at the University of Oxford, the Qatari Prime Minister said that he had been in continuous contact with US officials for the past two weeks and that Washington was interested in diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
He said that election results could influence US policy in the future; however, despite the electoral defeat, the US administration's desire to find a diplomatic solution had not changed.
According to Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the pace of diplomatic contacts has slowed in recent days, but negotiations and communication are still continuing.
The Qatari Prime Minister made it clear that Qatar would continue its mediation efforts between Iran and the United States. He said that instead of waiting for a comprehensive peace agreement, it was necessary to reach an immediate, workable agreement to reduce tensions.
