Peshawar (Pakistan News): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is upset because he was not given a share in the government. However, he added that the government was formed without him and would continue to function in the future as well.
Speaking to journalists in Peshawar, Faisal Karim Kundi said that operations based on intelligence information were underway to eliminate terrorism in the province, and these operations were expected to reduce terrorist incidents.
He said that even if opponents were provided with all basic facilities and the city were turned into a city of flowers, they would still criticise the government. The current government is taking steps to resolve the problems that have emerged over the past 13 years, and no one will be considered above the law.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor said that effective laws would be introduced for the betterment of the province and necessary legislation would also be carried out.
Responding to a question about the use of the official helicopter, he said that government helicopters were meant for official duties of the governor, chief minister and prime minister. He had travelled for official government work and had not used the helicopter for entertainment or luxury.
Faisal Karim Kundi alleged that in the past, permits for encroachments were issued in exchange for money, while the present government was taking steps to eliminate encroachments.
He said that a mechanism was being developed to address the difficulties faced by people affected by anti-encroachment operations. Steps would also be taken to provide suitable places to street vendors.
The governor further said that efforts were underway to prevent incidents involving polio workers and reduce the spread of polio in the province.
