Swiss Scientists Develop Device to Control Blood Sugar Without Insulin

Zurich (Web Desk): A major development has emerged in the field of diabetes treatment, as scientists in Switzerland have developed an advanced experimental device capable of lowering blood sugar levels using electricity without insulin. This breakthrough has opened up new possibilities for treating diabetes and obesity.

The device, developed by researchers at ETH Zurich, is implanted inside the body, where it converts excess glucose in the blood into a substance called gluconate, which the kidneys remove from the body through urine.

According to the research, the device operates using wireless technology and is connected to a system that continuously monitors blood sugar levels. Experiments conducted on mice demonstrated that it could automatically regulate blood sugar levels.

The experiments also revealed that the device could help increase the use of stored fat in the body, raising hopes for the possibility of treating diabetes and obesity simultaneously.

Meanwhile, a new medical study has revealed that people suffering from obesity and prediabetes who use GLP-1 medications may reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by up to 31 percent.
