Assets of Pakistan’s Insurance Industry Reach Rs4.1 Trillion

Islamabad (Commerce Desk) — The total assets of Pakistan’s insurance industry have reached Rs4.1 trillion, while premiums increased by 15% to Rs778 billion. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has released its insurance industry data report, stating that insurance companies disclosed details of more than one million claims paid for the first time in 2025.

According to the SECP, life insurance companies paid claims worth Rs410 billion, while non-life insurance companies paid claims worth Rs132 billion. Life insurance companies settled more than 33,000 death-related claims, while non-life insurance companies settled more than 720,000 health- and accident-related claims.

According to the report, more than 282,000 motor insurance claims were paid, while approximately 11,000 claims related to fire and property were settled.

SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Sidhu said that publishing details of claims would increase accountability in the insurance sector, while timely payment of claims is important for policyholders’ confidence.

According to the report, premiums generated through digital insurance channels also increased significantly, rising by 71%.
