California (Commerce Desk): Apple Inc. has warned that rising memory and storage chip prices could lead to an increase in the cost of its products.
According to international media reports, growing demand from artificial intelligence data centers has put significant pressure on global memory chip supply, resulting in a noticeable rise in prices.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company has so far absorbed additional production costs itself to protect consumers from price hikes, but under the current circumstances, continuing this approach has become difficult.
He did not provide details about the timing of possible price increases or which products may be affected, but indicated that rising memory chip costs have become a major challenge for the company.
According to him, Apple is willing to use its financial resources to improve memory supply chains, but has no plans to establish its own memory or storage manufacturing facilities.
It is also worth noting that Apple is preparing to launch its new devices in September, including a foldable iPhone and the iPhone 18 Pro series.
