Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Iran has warned that if the United States continues its naval blockade, there is a possibility of the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz and other important maritime routes.
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr said that if US naval measures continue, key waterways in the region could face further restrictions.
According to the state broadcaster, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr said that due to America’s continued provocative policies, not only the Strait of Hormuz could be affected, but other maritime routes may also be closed.
He warned that the consequences of Washington’s actions could be faced by the global economy, energy markets, and the American people as well.
It is worth noting that on July 14, the US CENTCOM announced the resumption of a naval blockade against Iran on the instructions of President Donald Trump.
