Peshawar (Pakistan News) — Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that consultations have been held on imposing governor’s rule in the province, adding that the Constitution provides for it and that it would not be an unconstitutional measure.
Speaking to the media, Faisal Karim Kundi said that the province was facing problems of corruption, lawlessness and terrorism, while the provincial government was talking about a long march to Islamabad. He said that the law and order situation in the province should also be taken into consideration.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor claimed that PTI was not prepared for the long march and that some of its leaders were offering themselves for arrest. He said that the police were making sacrifices but were not being provided with the required facilities and resources.
Faisal Karim Kundi said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister wanted a 25 percent quota in the recruitment of DSPs, adding that resistance would be offered against such a move and the police would be protected.
He further said that he expected PTI to announce today or tomorrow that it was ending the long march. According to Faisal Karim Kundi, consultations had already taken place regarding governor’s rule, and given the current situation in the province, the possibility could not be ruled out.
