Beirut (Monitoring Desk) — Ongoing tensions in southern Lebanon have left residents of key cities such as Nabatieh and Tyre facing severe hardships, as the spread of attacks has further worsened the situation.
According to an Al Jazeera report, the city of Tyre has a population of over 80,000, while Nabatieh is also home to a large number of residents, many of whom are now being forced to leave their homes for safety.
Local residents are reportedly moving toward relatively safer areas north of the Litani River, leading to an emerging humanitarian crisis.
The report states that the situation has not only disrupted daily life but has also created serious administrative challenges for the government, as providing facilities to a large number of displaced people has become difficult.
Lebanon’s infrastructure, already in a fragile condition, has further complicated the crisis. At the government level, efforts and diplomatic initiatives are underway to bring the situation under control.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 3,412 people have lost their lives since the beginning of the current conflict.
