Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): The controversy surrounding the Indian film “Kala Hiran” has intensified, with producer Amit Jani issuing a legal notice to senior actor Govind Namdev.
According to Indian media, the notice demands that the actor issue a public apology within seven days and pay ₹5 million in damages to the production house, failing which legal action will be initiated against him.
Reports say the dispute began after Govind Namdev watched the film’s teaser and stated that he was not fully informed about the actual story of the film, and that the final version differed from his initial understanding.
The actor reportedly said he was told the film would be titled “Sambhal” and that his role would be limited to courtroom scenes, but later changes in the storyline were revealed.
On the other hand, producer Amit Jani maintains that Govind Namdev joined the project with full awareness and had also agreed to work in its sequel.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has also approached the Delhi High Court seeking a ban on the film’s release. The plea states that the film is based on allegations linked to his personality and violates his personal rights. The hearing is expected on June 19.
