Islamabad (Commerce Desk) – Flour prices have recorded a significant increase across Pakistan over the past year, with the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag rising by up to Rs1,250 in some cities between July 10, 2025, and July 10, 2026.
Flour prices continued to rise throughout the year in major cities of all four provinces as well as the federal capital Islamabad.
According to documents from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, citizens of Karachi are still forced to buy flour at the highest price in the country. A 20-kilogram flour bag, which cost up to Rs1,800 a year ago in Karachi, has now reached Rs2,900.
The documents show that Peshawar and Bannu recorded the highest increase of Rs1,250 in the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag during the year, while Quetta and Khuzdar saw an increase of Rs1,200, Islamabad and Rawalpindi Rs1,173, Sukkur Rs1,140, and Karachi and Hyderabad Rs1,100.
Similarly, the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag increased by Rs1,083 in Gujranwala, Rs1,013 in Bahawalpur, and around Rs1,000 in Sialkot, Multan, and Larkana.
According to the report, the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag increased by Rs950 in Faisalabad, Rs850 in Lahore, and Rs806 in Sargodha.
The documents further show that in Islamabad, the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag increased from Rs1,627 to Rs2,800 during the year, while in Rawalpindi it rose from Rs1,613 to Rs2,786, in Gujranwala from Rs1,450 to Rs2,533, in Sialkot from Rs1,467 to Rs2,467, and in Lahore from Rs1,400 to Rs2,250.
