Washington (Monitoring Desk) A White House official has said that a final agreement between the United States and Iran to end hostilities is unlikely to be concluded immediately, as Iran’s leadership may take several more days to give final approval.
According to the official, there has been progress in ongoing negotiations between United States and Iran, but further discussions are still required before a complete agreement can be reached.
Meanwhile, US media reports claim that negotiators from both sides have already agreed on broad and fundamental principles of a deal.
The reports further suggest that some US officials believe that Mojtaba Khamenei, a close associate within the circle of Iran’s Supreme Leader, has also approved the initial framework of the proposed agreement.
Although both sides appear to agree on key points, final details and formal signing are still pending.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump said in a statement that a deal with Iran had not yet been finalized. He added that the agreement would be “very different” from the nuclear deal made during Barack Obama’s presidency.
He further stated that no one has seen the deal yet and people are criticizing it without knowing the details, urging the public not to pay attention to such remarks.
Donald Trump also expressed optimism, saying positive developments regarding Iran are expected, as he claimed he never makes a “bad deal.”
