Occupied West Bank (Monitoring Desk): The son of Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, was seriously injured in a vehicle attack carried out by a Palestinian man in the occupied West Bank.
According to media reports, the Israeli ambassador said in a statement on social media that a miracle was needed to save his son’s life.
According to the military and law enforcement agencies, a Palestinian man rammed his vehicle into a security checkpoint near the Beit Horon settlement, seriously injuring a soldier.
According to Israeli forces, the suspect attempted to flee after the attack, prompting security personnel to open fire and kill him. The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the attacker as Mahmoud Suleiman.
According to reports, the Israeli ambassador’s elder son, Yedidya Leiter, had also served in the Israeli military and was killed in Gaza following the October 7 attack.
