Rawalpindi (Pakistan Khabar): The Pakistan Air Force observed September 7 as Martyrs’ Day at all air bases across the country, with the aim of paying tribute to PAF martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Martyrs’ Day began with a special prayer for the forgiveness and reward of the souls of the martyrs of the 1965 and 1971 wars, the brave martyrs of the Battle of Truth, and all PAF personnel who embraced martyrdom while performing their duties in defense of the homeland from the establishment of Pakistan to the present day, along with Quran recitation.
According to the ISPR, the chief guest at the main ceremony held at Air Headquarters in Islamabad was Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu.
On the occasion, the Air Chief paid tribute to the PAF martyrs, saying that their great sacrifices are the foundation of the Pakistan Air Force’s glorious traditions, courage, professional excellence and unwavering commitment to the defense of the homeland.
He said that the bravery of our elders is not merely a part of history but a living legacy for the present generation.
The Chief of the Air Staff said that the PAF martyrs are an everlasting symbol of courage, sacrifice and national resolve. Their legacy reminds us that the defense of the motherland is a sacred trust, which we will continue to uphold with perseverance and firm determination.
According to the ISPR, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and offered Fateha for the elevation of their ranks.
