Mexico (Monitoring Desk): At least 10 people were killed and 64 injured in a powerful explosion involving fireworks during a religious festival in Mexico.
According to media reports, the incident occurred in the Temascalcingo area of Mexico State in central Mexico.
According to local authorities, religious celebrations were underway near a church on Saturday night, and a large number of people had gathered to watch the fireworks when the explosion occurred. The force of the blast also caused one wall of the church to collapse.
According to initial reports, a fire that originated from a traditional fireworks bull may have spread to additional fireworks stored inside the church, causing the explosion. However, an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.
