Islamabad (Web Desk): The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has begun inspecting backup power arrangements at telecom towers to ensure uninterrupted mobile phone services during load shedding.
PTA teams are inspecting towers in urban and rural areas of various cities, where the performance of batteries, generators, and solar power systems is being assessed.
Inspections are underway in various areas, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Abbottabad, and Peshawar, while the availability of mobile signals and services is also being checked in areas affected by load shedding.
According to the PTA, local representatives are also accompanying the teams to identify affected areas where weak signals or unavailability of mobile services are being experienced due to power outages.
The PTA chairman has directed zonal offices to continue regularly reviewing telecom towers, saying that monitoring alternative power systems is essential to ensure uninterrupted services for consumers.
