New Delhi (Sports Desk): Renowned Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has announced his retirement from Test cricket.
Mohammed Shami announced his retirement through social media platform Instagram after completing 13 years of his Test career. The 36-year-old fast bowler made his Test debut against the West Indies in November 2013. He delivered an outstanding performance in his very first match, taking a total of nine wickets for 118 runs, which remains his best match bowling performance in Test cricket.
According to a report by a cricket website, Mohammed Shami represented India in 64 Test matches and took 229 wickets at an average of 27.71. However, he could not secure a place among the top five fast bowlers with the highest number of Test wickets in India's history.
