Islamabad (Sports Desk): Pakistan Television batter Muhammad Shehzad set a new record for the fastest century in Pakistani first-class cricket with a brilliant batting performance in the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade I.
In the match against Kingsmen Academy at Islamabad’s Diamond Cricket Ground, Muhammad Shehzad completed his century in just 49 balls.
The previous record was held by former national captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who scored a century off 56 balls against Australia in 2014.
In his aggressive innings, Muhammad Shehzad hit 12 fours and 8 sixes. He faced a total of 62 balls and scored 114 runs.
This was Muhammad Shehzad’s sixth century in first-class cricket, while his 49-ball century ranks as the eighth-fastest century in the history of global first-class cricket.
