Islamabad (Commerce Desk): Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Kenya has surpassed the historic milestone of $1 billion during the fiscal year 2025–2026, reaching a total of $1.023 billion.
According to Rafique Suleman, President of the Pak-Kenya Business Council, this achievement reflects growing economic cooperation between the two countries and is the result of years of sustained efforts to strengthen business ties.
He said that Pakistan’s exports to Kenya, including hosiery, garments, pharmaceuticals, and other value-added products, have seen a significant increase, while imports of tea from Kenya to Pakistan have also grown.
Rafique Suleman noted that reaching the $1 billion trade target was once considered a distant goal, but now it has become a reality due to continuous efforts by the business council, relevant institutions, and the expansion of trade activities.
He further announced that celebrations will soon be held in Nairobi and Pakistan to mark this milestone, with participation from diplomatic and trade representatives of both countries.
The contributions of the Kenyan High Commission in Pakistan and the Commercial Section were also acknowledged, along with the efforts of the Pakistani High Commission in Nairobi.
He added that crossing the $1 billion mark is not the end but the beginning of a new phase of economic cooperation, with further expansion expected in trade, investment, and industrial partnerships between the two countries.
