Dubai (Monitoring Desk): Cyberattacks against the United Arab Emirates have increased significantly during the Iran conflict, with 640,000 attacks recorded in a single day.
According to Emirati authorities, cyber attackers targeted critical sectors, including petroleum, gas, electricity, water and banking. Following the attacks, the UAE Cybersecurity Council instructed institutions to remain continuously vigilant.
Officials said that the number of cyberattacks had also reached 800,000 in April this year, while cyberattacks are being used as a new weapon during the war.
According to Emirati authorities, more than 85 percent of cyberattacks are initiated when users click on malicious or incorrect links or content.
Authorities warned that cyber attackers can remain dormant for several months before launching an attack. Therefore, institutions will have to maintain continuous security measures and monitoring.
