Washington (Showbiz Desk): Renowned American rapper and singer Macklemore has revealed that several major concert halls and stadiums in the United States have refused to provide him with venues for charity events organized in support of the Palestinian people.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Macklemore said that his charity concerts titled "Free Palestine" had been successfully held in Dublin, Paris and London. However, he is facing difficulties organizing similar events in the United States.
According to the singer, managements of prominent venues in New York, including Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center and other major locations, initially informed him about available dates. However, when they learned that the events were being organized to support the Palestinian people, they refused to provide the venues.
Macklemore described this action as contrary to freedom of expression and made it clear that he would never withdraw his support for the Palestinian people.
Taking a firm stance, he said that powerful and influential individuals might own concert halls, but they do not have control over the thoughts and voices of the people who attend these events.
The singer further said that if he was unable to secure venues for his concerts, he would establish his own stages and continue raising donations for the Palestinian people.
