US-Iran Tensions Pressure Asian Stock Markets

Karachi (Commerce Desk) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a sharp decline at the start of the trading week, with the KSE-100 Index falling by more than 2,700 points to 179,448 points.

At the beginning of the trading session, investors adopted a cautious approach, resulting in increased selling pressure in the market.

It is worth mentioning that on the last trading day of the previous week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 Index had closed at 182,241 points after gaining 982 points.

Meanwhile, major Asian stock markets also witnessed a downward trend due to rising tensions between the United States and Iran.

According to the news agency, South Korea’s KOSPI Index recorded a decline of more than 8 percent, while Japan’s Nikkei Index fell by over 2.5 percent.

China’s Shanghai Composite Index declined by 1.54 percent, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index also continued to show a slight downward trend.
