Lahore (Showbiz Desk): Pakistani actor, host, and rapper Ahmed Ali Butt has expressed disappointment over the lack of an official tribute to his grandmother and legendary subcontinent singer Malika-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan on her 100th birth anniversary.
In an Instagram Story, Ahmed Ali Butt said that neither was Noor Jehan honored on Pakistan Television nor were her posters displayed at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on the occasion of her 100th birth anniversary.
He said Noor Jehan deserved far greater recognition at the national and governmental level, but the government completely forgot this important milestone in her life.
Malika-e-Tarannum Noor Jehan is regarded as one of the great musical figures of the subcontinent. During her long artistic career, she sang hundreds of songs and continues to be considered a prominent example for people associated with music.
